Hey all, I do not have much experience with CPs, as I have only about 5 different CPs that were given to me on Christmas. I just made this account because a couple of days ago, I left on a short road trip from my home 30 miles south of San Francisco, in San Mateo county, up to Humboldt redwood forest to see the giant redwoods for myself. Beforehand, I had done enough research to know that in Mendocino county, on the way back from the redwoods, there is a bog somewhere where you can see carnivorous plants, near Albion, southeast of fort Bragg, but not enough to find its exact location. I asked a couple of locals where the bog was, one man said he had never been there but knew its location, which ended up being the other side of the road from a small airport, but I found no sphagnum or CPs. Another man didn't know what I meant at first when I mentioned a bog, but then gave directions to the pygmy forest tiny circle trail in Van Damme state park. The trail was interesting and such, but seemed in no way indusive to CP growth. There were 2 trails, one was 2.3 miles and one was 1.2 miles, from the end of the circle trail there, but instead I decided to keep looking in other places from the side of the road for a bog. I never found the bog, nor any sphagnum or CP growth, and was wondering if anybody on this forum had ever been there or knows where there are directions to it. I read only one thing that mentioned going off the trail somewhere along some trail and eventually getting to the bog, but that obviously gave no direct information on how to get to the bog.
thanks
edit: incase anybody didn't know, all this takes place in northern california.
