Aidan - that's what I though originally - and posted. But then it was said that anyone could vote. It has certainly been accepting votes from outside the US and still is. So why wait 2 weeks to cull votes ?? That does seem strange. But, I had wondered if that was the reason myself ?
EDIT - OK found that voting info - although it doesn't actually non US residents can't vote !
SO, I suggest that ALL non US residents tell pepsi that "as they are not interested in your vote, you are no longer interested in their products" - stop buying pepsi in protest and tell them so!!
BUT, this does show the difference the CP community can make when we all work together on something. Lets hope we actually get the chance to do so and make that difference in the future.

EDIT - OK found that voting info - although it doesn't actually non US residents can't vote ! It does so state and my earlier quote is copied directly from the Pepsi Refresh site. I didn't make it up... As I said, there are any number of possible reasons for the fall in position. The residency requirement is simply an obvious one.

Aidan - I know, you copied exactly what they have writen.
It says "who can vote" - US residents. But it doesn't actually say that non-US residents CAN'T Vote. It doesn't say that ONLY US residents can vote. It just says that "US residents can vote".
Splitting hairs I know - but still. Basically they hide that bit in small print to get loads of people across the world visiting their site.

I'd say that the statement is all too clear Phil, but I'd love to see you take issue with Pepsi in court.
The moral as always is to read the "small print".

Hi Folks:
Keep voting, no matter where you are. Our position today is 128. There must have been some glitch in the Pepsi software. Our rank on our Pepsi page differed significantly from our rank in the current leaders section but this has now been corrected. Please keep up the effort, everyone.
Thanks,
Phil

Phil, it matters where we are, people from outside the US can't vote. And that's a massive part of the total cp people.

Hi Marcello:
I know Christian Dietz and Carsten Paul in Germany have been voting so go ahead and give it a try. If it doesn't work you don't have anything to lose and as some folks have stated you are not explicitly banned from voting. We need all the help we can get to make this happen and the world CP community is a significant block of voters that could help us win.
Best,
Phil

Of course, as a matter of fact we are allowed to vote, you mentioned 2 people but maybe you're not aware that most European cp societies have been told about this project, so there are for sure hundreds of cp growers in Europe that are voting every day The point is that these voted won't be counted, and Pepsi didn't make that very clear. In fact, while Pepsi was very clear about US ideas being the only ones admitted, they kept very hidden the fact that only US people votes count. They could make that clear, they could set their website so that only US people could register and vote, but they didn't. So, why did they hide so much the part where they say that only US people can vote? Why didn't they set the website so that only US people could register and vote? Because they want as many people as possible from all over the world to take part to this. Which means tens of millions people going to the Pepsi site and watching the name of their brand, instead of just a few hundreds of thousands. Phil, we can all vote anyway, no problem, and if you receive some news from the people who are in charge of this event, and they say that actually even non-US people votes will be counted, then of course it means we all got it wrong, but so far what I read at (the bottom of) the faq page is quite clear.

Hi Marcello:
I'm not sure your vote isn't being counted. There is really no way for us to know. If you are able to register and vote, or text vote, then your vote is probably being counted. I don't think that Pepsi has the software to detect a non-US voter.
So.. please keep voting. We probably won't get a definitive answer on this and it doesn't do us any good to make a big deal out of it either, especially if your votes are being counted at this time.
We really appreciate your support!
Best,
Phil

This is all very strange.
Maybe they read this forum and have agreed with my argument, that they didn't 'actually' say non-US residents can't vote ;D

VOTE!! Folks, we're starting to drop in our ranking since we're down to 128. If people don't vote everyday, and get others to vote, we aren't going to win this thing. Thanks for your help.
Sincerely,
Phil Sheridan Meadowview
