Does anyone know of any non carnivorous plants that would work well in my bog garden? All I have right now is sphagnum, and I would like some other small plants. Do any orchids grow well in the same mixture? (Mine is 3 peat: 1 sand.) Thanks.

Rose Pogonias (Pogonia ophioglossoides) are neat bog orchids I've seen growing with S. purpurea and sundews in the wild. But these were growing in deep, wet Sphagnum moss, no peat or sand.
Also try: bog rosemary sedges blue iris

In my experience Rose Pogonia (Pogonia ophioglossoides), Grass Pinks (Calopogon tuberosus), and Nodding Laddy's Tresses (Spiranthes cernua/odorata) are orchids aren't picky about the substrate as long as it is boggy and acidic. They should work well in your bog garden and when happy will spread freely. Also, all of these are fairly easy to obtain commercially and inexpensive.
