You must have used a microscope to capture that kind of detail.
I have a feeling that some aldrovanda nerd out there would really want to see this, not to mention myself...
You are a very promising source of good pictures; i can't really say much more due to my lack of knowledge on aldrovanda.

In my humble opinion, Lubomir Adamec is the authority on Aldrovanda and has done some excellent research on them. You can access some of his publications here. Beautiful photos. Thanks for sharing!

Presuming this thread is not too old- the current belief is that the fine trigger hairs of Aldrovanda traps act to mimic filamentous algal threads. Whether the species employs volatiles or specific attractants remains unresolved, however we have a research project ongoing focusing on this and hope to have some answers soon.
