Hi all
Today, in the gardencenter where I work, i bought a Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, red mangrove plant. Rare that rare plants come in but I try to look out for it .
Anyway they are 3 in a pot. I want to seperate them. I wonder in what kind of media I schould put them. I was thinking 3 parts white river sand, 1 part peat to imitate the acid rotting proces in mangroves. topping with white sand.
Some people growing this plant with succes?
thanks
C.

Many reef keepers just grow their mangroves straight in their sumps. The leaves need to be wiped down occasionally as they exude salt. Definitely can't use pure water for them, brackish at the very least, and yes, planted in sand, if desired, or just freely in water (remember the salt mix).
