Hi Wang,
That is too cool!
I actually sent you an email just as you left on your trip...and to find out here that you've already have got plenty of seeds in the making.
Hope to hear from you soon!

Do you have any recommendations on how to get these guys to germinate? I more or less followed the suggestions on the ICPS seedbank page. It has been about a month- not a single pop. None of them have rotted or been hit by fungi- they are just kind of hanging out. We are in the heat of the summer though- that may have something to do with it.

You should get what you want, my introduction is very clear in step by step with my passion. I sow the seeds start from fall due to the raining season is coming in the Mediterranean. 2011 June 4 -- This is the six petals flower. 2011 July 9 -- 10 seeds from this flower.

Well, not a bad run! Are you going to start more from seed? If so it would be interesting to watch their development. I can't wait until I have some seedlings.

wwang - It's also been my experience that this species dies rather suddenly when it decides to go. There is no languishing or hope of recovery. The seed production you obtained was rather impressive.

I catch myself wondering if that impressive seed bounty contributed to its untimely demise. I don't know yet know a lot about these guys, but I have read that flowering and seed production really takes a lot out of them.

ICPS seed bank John Britt had said to me "this plant will thrive at its first year and die in next year." So, two years, it really is its time to go. One life gone, and one life will start. I am expecting to see flowers from the six petals flowers seed. I will sow them on this September -- the raining season start in the Mediterranean, the place their ancestry evolved their amazing features. 2011 June 4

Well I wish you the best of luck. Please keep up posted, it has been fun seeing the new pictures. I am happy to report that my misguided early seed sowing has resulted in a seedling. Hopefully it will grow to adulthood and I will have nice pictures to post.
