Hi everyone,
Here Olivier from Switzerland. Dobidohh because my previous mailbox was full, and the hell of a hard time trying to lower its lid day after day!
Growing mainly neps indoors and hardy drosera, (+ the regular basic stuff like darl/vft/hellies,sarr) in my lowland area, I look forward to chatting with you folks, most of whom I seem to know as far as I have read your names!
All the best to each of you,
Olivier Marthaler

Hello Oliver. From what part of Switzerland are you from? My family name is Swiss and I have travelled there and loved it! I spent a good deal of my trip travelling around Switzerland and I look forward to the day I can go back! Later, Matt K.

Hi Matt K, Originally my name too is from German-speaking Switzerland near Zurich. Here in CH, the "origin" means where our ancerstors lived, and not where we/our parents were born. So our origins go back up to 14th century (sorry, I turned out to be a historian and a teacher rather than a scientist or a technician!). For the last 200 years, my "younger" ancestors have lived in Western Switzerland, nearby France, where we speak French, live in a rough and cold area (1000 metres above sea-level) know more about French politics (how boring) than Swiss politics, vote on the left (socialist hometown for ca 90 years now), do not belong to Europe yet unfortunately, and consequently are a minority in every field... but enjoy such communities as cp's and mankind as a whole, no matter their origins My hometown is La Chaux-de-Fonds, in the Jura mountains, perfect climate for hardy droserae, pings, not for neps which I grow inside... So I guess if your last name starts with a K that it must be of Germanic origin, too. Bienvenue en Suisse si tu viens y retrouver la trace de tes ancêtres! Kindly, Olivier Hello Oliver. From what part of Switzerland are you from? My family name is Swiss and I have travelled there and loved it! I spent a good deal of my trip travelling around Switzerland and I look forward to the day I can go back! Later, Matt K.

Dear picrophyll, Sorry for you, colder time must be coming in in your beautiful part of the world... At last, spring is here, though we didn't have that much of a winter, chilly temps, but not enough snow to go skiing, except in the Alps, what a pity! Yes indeed, things are definitely looking far greater this year than the last couple of them... in many fields Concerning my email box, it is always full, that's why here's a new one, which everybody happening to read this message is welcome to use: dobidohh@yahoo.fr (sorry, no Swiss yahoo yet) For the linguist that I know you would just love to have been, "dobidohh" is private gibberish from my elder daughter when she was 3 and trying to pronounce "piano", which she has been playing for 3 years now (turning 9 next months). I sure have a lot of talking to catch up with, so much time having been used to solve problems other than chlorophyll-related !!! Please forgive my long silence. So all the best to you + family btw: ALL your neps are growing fine, year after year...

Hello again Olivier, my last name is Kaelin and we are from Einsiedeln and that's about all I know of my family history. Visited there once, quite beautiful. Some of my other favorite places there: Lauterbrunnen and Gimmelwald were probly my favorites. Also checked out the Gieger museum at La Gruyere and his bar in Chur and alotta other great places as well. I have alotta love for Switzerland and look forward to returning some time in the not-so-distant future.
