I am member of a few other fora (either concerned with CPs or music in some way or other), and in each case there is an option to view the new posts (since last login) at the touch of a button. Maybe I'm spoilt in this, but I'm finding thay I have to search through the whole site to find threads/posts I have been written since I last logged in. Would it be a good idea to have this function here? Is there one already, and have I missed it?

There's a 10 most recent posts button like at the bottom of the main page under forum statistics.

The 10 most recent posts is a useful function, but I agree with Loaksey on this one. As this is an international forum, there can be a lot of posts made whilst you are sleeping and it usually exceeds 10. If you don't log in for a few days the number of new posts is even higher. I find it a chore checking all the topics that interest me to see if anything new has been posted.
I'm not sure if proboards allows for a 'view all new posts since last login' function in the way that other forum software, such phpbb does though.

We all want it and have been trying to find out if it is possible. If anyone knows a ProBoard forum with this feature available, let us know and we will check it out.

And the last 10 posts appears as individual posts without their previous posts in the same thread, making everything difficult to read when they're out of context! (that was a bit too wordy, sorry! Did it make sense? )

That's good! I'd like to offer my help, but alas, I am absolutely useless when it comes to stuff like this!! ;D

...an option to view the new posts (since last login) at the touch of a button. Before leaving, click “Mark as Read” on the lower right hand corner of the Home Page, when you come back look for the folders that are now marked with new posts (blue dot)?

That works Joe, but it doesn't do anything about the fact that the last 10 threads are out of context and since we have a large forum with many sections in this fase "walking" the blue dots is a lot of work.

Also only really works for posts posted 'Today' and not for posts posted last-night. So it'd only work if I marked them as read at midnight!

marcel – yeah, no help with the 10 thread thing – you do have to check all of the blue dots to look for the “new” posts. Maybe by checking out each new thread you may stumble on an interesting thread. loakesy – I marked them all read last night and 30 minutes or so after I marked them a blue dot popped up for me, so at least last night I got all posts after I marked them as read – not just a daily basis thing.

Nah! Just tried that. For some reason, I don't seem to be getting the blue dots!

If you make any headway on this, especially if we need to change one of our personal settings, please post in this thread or somewhere very visible. Currently I find the ICPS forum much more difficult to quickly peruse for posts of interest than the other 2 forums - and I suspect this the primary culprit....

I think I know what these are now, but they're not very clear.
And yes, I am logged in!
