Recently, there have been some major changes in the ICPS on the board & volunteer front.
Due to changes in peoples' lives and time commitments, several long term veterans found they could no longer commit to the time needed to perform many of the necessary tasks needed for keeping the society running, so we went looking for people to fill their shoes.
We are glad to report that we were largely successful and are once again operating with a full Board and some new additional volunteers.
The Secretarial work is now in good hands with Keith Becker.
We also reintroduced the Membership Secretary position to help spread the amount of work- we are thankful to have Sheila Stewart on board to perform this duty.
John Brittnacher will be able to focus more on technical issues now that the seed bank and our store will be taken over by Joe Griffin.
Finally we also found a new treasurer in Ryan Ward.
With all of these changes comes of course a transition period. Transfers of data, access to accounts etc are being dealt with and the team is working flat out to do this as fast as possible.
For a period, some things may take a little longer than usual and something might even slip under the radar.
We hope you will be understanding about this.
However, if something is taking long or you didn't get a reply or action after a request (think help with payments, membership issues, etc...) you are always welcome to inquire and send an e-mail to us (when in doubt which address to use, use inquire@carnivorousplants.org).
Thank you for your continued support and join me in welcoming our new Board members and Volunteers!
I would also like to take the opportunity to thank Cindy Slezak and Richard Meyers on behalf of all of us for the years of work and effort they put into our society.
By the way, we are still looking for someone to help the editorial staff hunt for articles to use in CPN.
