Hi, after searching this section as well as the Heliamphora section I've found only one reference to each of these subjects. A germination trial testing the effect of PPM on germination used Heliamphora and someone regenerated whole plants from shoot tips (totally impressive - also done with Nepenthes for this individual) on 1/3-1/2 MS without hormones. Are there any other bits of information out there? References in the academic realm seem just as scarce...

Exactly there is virtually no information on how to do it, only refferences on forums and your own applied knowledge learned in college is what you may make. Starting from seeds is the easiest, almost any protocol leaves fertile seeds which sprout at some time, (Nepenthes may take 6 months to do so), and same as heliamphora, but seeds from this genera are scarse since everyone wants to plant its own seeds. And since there is almost no information on mediums, then starting with no hormones is best, they don't need them unless you want to masively propagate them, and that happens after you have in vitro plants.

Hi coline, thanks for confirming that for me. It seemed like there was little to no information but I no longer have access to the wonderful University library databases I once had and couldn't be sure (although nothing was even showing on google scholar or ncbi.nlm.nih.gov so I figured...). and thanks for the starting advice, no hormones. That's kind of what I figured from the two reports here but wasn't totally sure. Cheers,
