Dear all,
Re: Deployable Structures
I have been commissioned by Lawrence King to publish a book with the above title. The book is designed to be of a small format, A5 size, and it is directed to architects and designers but also the general public. There is a biomimetic section and some principles are inspired on nature samples.
I would like to use a picture of the Aldrovanda trap for this publication as its elastic kinematics has inspired the creation of anticlastic geometries with potential for architecture and design.
Please let me know if any of you has a picture of the Aldrovanda trap and would be happy to publish it in this book. Although there is no budget for procuring images your picture would of course be credited in the publication.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any further information.
Yours sincerely,
Esther

Seeing as the trap structures are pretty similar, Venus flytraps might be better, because they are easier generally to get good pictures of when it comes to close up trap structure.

You can use this picture I took if you like. I couldn't get any closer to the traps without keeping it in focus, so I don't know if you want to use it.

There are numerous photos of Aldrovanda on the CP Photo Finder at cpphotofinder.com/aldrovanda-vesiculosa-7.htmlIf you find an image you desire, you can likely locate the owner of that photo by any number of search approaches. Also you might contact Adam Cross, author of the definitive book Aldrovanda - The Waterwheel Plant.
