Hey All.. Long time reader first time posting... Its that time of the year for sarracenia divisions to be out on the market. I wondered if anyone has any routine bringing new plants into a colder climate . I'm in zone 6B and I'm still frozen and buried in snow. Most of the division's are coming from a warmer part of the country and are ready to start growing But mine are still sleeping... Thanks Ahead for any reply's.....

Take them indoors and put them by a window in a cooler room. That's what I did to slowly get my Venus flytrap to "wake up" gradually.

If your Sarracenia rhizomes have not started growing yet, you can hold them dormant by storing them in the refrigerator until it looks like you can go outdoors with them. As wacky as this winter has been, that's probably another month still. I've kept some in cold storage up until the end of April without harm. Keep them just damp with a paper towel, and spraying with a sulfur fungicide is a good idea. Check them once a week to make sure you're not seeing any mold. If you see some, spray additional fungicide and change the paper towels.
You can put them in a window, but unless you have a very bright sunny area, you will often get weak spindly growth, and you'll put them through an additional transition when they move outside often seeing some burn on the weaker leaves that grew inside.
