I have around 20 strands of Aldrovanda growing in a fish tank in my house, and I was wondering if they need to rest for the winter (i.e. go dormant). Since I keep the photoperiod at 8 hours each day and the plants are indoors, I'm pretty sure that the plants aren't getting any seasonal cues that it is winter. Is it okay to keep them in the tank without a dormancy?
I think I have the Japanese variety, which is temperate. I purchased it from Meadowview a few months ago. They aren't showing any signs of going dormant right now.
