Hi all - So this was my first summer growing Aldrovanda. Seemed pretty successful. I'm not chocking on them, but there was some really good growth. Now winter is setting in and I am faced with having to collect turions for the first time. I'd like to get a few 10-15 to bring in to the fridge over the winter as the bucket they are growing in now will freeze solid, and I am not certain they will survive that (though I am curious about that). Does anyone know when I should harvest the turions? I am afraid if I wait too long they will sink, and I'll never find them. Alternatively, if I take them off too soon will I reduce their survival because they were not fully provisioned with the carbohydrates they needed? I'm hoping to hear from someone who has done this before successfully on Aldrovanda or aquatic Utrics. Thanks!

In case anyone is interested, the turions were successfully harvested. Now to get them through the winter.

Awesome - look forward to hearing about the "reawakening" after winter!
