Below are photos of the collection just starting to wake up out of dormancy. We've had a few days with 70 F weather, which has really perked things up. However, due to recent rains, it's back down to 65 F day temps, and high 40's to low 50's at night. The first to bloom is always S. flava var. rugelii for me, and this seems like it'll be a good grow year. A few years back, my first flowers didn't start opening until the second week of April. Photos below were taken 3/29/13: S. rosea Mobile Co, AL flower shot: Another S. rosea Mobile Co, AL flower shot: S. roseas from many different locations: Another shot: S. flava var. rugelii population is starting to bloom: Tub of S. flava var. flavas from different locations in North Carolina. This one in bloom is from Cartaret Co, NC: S. flava var. flava Brunswick Co, NC-this little pot has 3 flowers: S. oreophila tub waking up: Even the baby S. oreophilas are waking up too: S. flava var. ornata black veins Bulloch Co, GA waking up: S. flava var. ornata 'black veins' Bulloch Co, GA flower. Even the flower is veined: S. flava var. ornata 'lidless'-what a strange looking thing! S. flava var. ornata 'lidless' flower bud has some veins in it too. This flower stalk is short and stubby...perhaps 2.5" tall: S. flava var. rubricorpora-open up!!! And a little baby S. flava var. rubricorpora trap opened up: The End!

Holy Cow, MIKE! We've had such a cold March here in South Caroline that it still looks like winter. Even the S. flava buds are only up a couple inches. Looks like we might finally be warming up and I'm sure the bog will wake up fast. Thanks for sharing!

Buds I have, but open flowers and pitchers are weeks away yet. Looks like Spring has forgotten to happen this year...

Mark-I've heard about the abnormally cool weather in your area this year. I heard it snowed in Atlanta about a week or two ago, which just baffles me! It also snowed this year in S. leucophylla habitats in Alabama. I had no idea it snows that far South! I also heard it goes from below freezing at night to 70+ degrees F. within a day or two. Hope it warms up for you guys soon...dying to see your amazing bog, haha
Coline-Thanks for your kind words!
Aidan-I know how you feel...most other years, it seems like everyone else gets a head start, but this year is abnormally warm for our spring. It was like this last year too, but in the years before that, our first flowers didn't open until about mid to late April.
The weather here in California has been

And I struggle just to keep my Sarracenia from succumbing to mystery illnesses/rot/unprompted suicide... I'm not sure whether to be inspired by your collection, or deeply depressed!
