I recently started back into my old hobby. I have had a hard time finding a community locally. This is a unique environment for CPs but I know there are growers around the Denver-Metro area. Anyone nearby? I know there is a big grower in Colorado Springs. I'm looking for Metro area growers...
Welcome back to the CP world. Your rescued Drosera capensis will probably do OK in your nice terrarium assuming it is getting enough light. But, it would likely do better out of the terrarium, if you slowly introduce it to increased sunlight and keep the soil moist, it should do quite well outdoors or on a windowsill.
I am concerned for all my plants as far as humidity goes. Humidity is why I use terrariums here in the arid high altitude, so outdoors is scary for me. Also I have no good light giving windows in my house. It does have a grow light bulb pretty close to it. I know sundews typically like more light so I got the light specifically for the terrarium and CPs. The collection in the other video/s is in a larger terrarium on my desk at work with a small flourescent grow light. In that larger setup, the Dionea has 3 new traps since I got it, the Nepenthes are growing slowly but surely, the Drosera has 3 new flower stalks, the Sarracenia has 4 or more new pitchers, and after moving closer to the lights, the Pinguicula is no longer straining its leaves upwards as much. Ooh, I just noticed 2 little baby Pings in there too. The temp and humidity are 85f and 70% humidity on average. Any suggestions on appropriate temp and humidity are appreciated!
I don't trust anyone or anything that doesn't eat meat.
