Probably what I'm most proud of this month growing it in Colorado. I had struggled with N. northiana for years. About a year and a half ago I got a few cuttings from a friend and finally have something worth showing.
The fire started pretty close to my place, 4 miles or so. Since then it has been spreading more North of me and I have not had to evacuate. It has been a really bad night with lots of house being burned to the ground.
Here are a few quick shots from my place from earlier today.
Not to detract from the topic of the fire, but I knew you were in CO- I did not realize you were in CO springs. I have a lot of family there. Lots of good childhood memories in CO Springs and Woodland Park. (I grew up for much of my childhood near Ft. Collins also lived just outside of Greeley for a while in high school).
Stay safe, fires are nasty. We get them here in CA almost every summer it seems. Usually some idiot forgets to put out a camp fire or something.
There has actually been confirmed evidence that one of the fires here was started by something far more sinister than campfires. Someone may actually be trying to close off the military bases here using the dry weather and perfect fire conditions we have here (military family, I find out lots).
