I have a problem: The Mexican pinguiculas we rear it in alkaline soil. Why we do not watering it with tapwater? In the tapwater is calcium and magnesium carbonate, sulphate and chloride and if I know it well, in the alkaline soil is sodium carbonate.

I'll take a shot at answering your question: You grow your Pings in an alkaline soil mix which is, you believe, high in minerals. While this is true, sulfates and chlorides are often detrimental to any carnivore, clhorides, more so than others. In low amounts most of the other minerals will not harm Mexican Pings, but high levels can still kill these realtively tolerant plants.
