So Richard, is the photo you linked D. sessilifolia (as the title of this thread) or D. glanduligera (as the caption of the photo in the link)?

Be aware that the identity of photos linked in the CP Photo Finder are based on information provided by the owner of that photo. In some cases, the true identity may be different from what the owner says it is. When errors are verified, I try to add a comment after the link, and in some cases, move the link to the proper place. In other words, beware of making definitive conclusions from the photo links. My purpose is to provide information about what is in circulation. When a definitive photo is available, I attempt to add a comment as such to the link. See, for example, the mess created by mass marketing of plants by the name Pinguicula 'Weser' and 'Sethos'. cpphotofinder.com/pinguicula-weser-3877.htmlcpphotofinder.com/pinguicula-sethos-3851.html

I believe the plant you have shown in the first post may be a hybrid. Sessifolia leaf: Burmanii leaf:

Richard, you have not opened a Pandora's box. it is already open. Drosera burmannii is described as being a green plant with white flowers. There are populations of "Drosera burmannii" in Australia that have red tentacles and green leaves, others with red tentacles and red leaves, and both types may have pink flowers. I also wonder if Drosera sessilifolia has variation within its range in South America but have not grown different varieties side-by-side like I have for Drosera burmannii. And, yes, there are hybrids in circulation making hobbyist determinations a nightmare. www.carnivorousplants.org/howto/GrowingGuides/D_burmannii.phpRobert Gibson has concurred with all this and admits something needs to be done to "fix" the species description of Drosera burmannii but to whom is it worth the time and effort?
