This is a bog located in a state park in South West Pennsylvania. Originally the area where the bog is located was a forest but it was logged heavily and burnt by a forest fire so the natural limestone depression turned into a bog. In the 1950's the local botanical society planted S. purpurea and possibly Drosera as well as other bog plants.
Although this is not a "natural/pristine" site it is still pretty freaking awesome. And the purpurea have done really, really well.
