Yes those are just weeds.
Could you tell us what seeds you have ordered?
It's not abnormal for nepenthes seeds to sprout slowly, and you have to be very careful when ordering seeds from ebay because seeds are very senstive and lots of the time seeds are collected 6 months to a year and falsely advertised as "fresh collected." Plus, it's hard to exactly tell whether it's fresh or not during the first few weeks, but depending on the species and nepenthes and all other plants seeds sprout at different times.

Any ideas on what is average and what is extreme in Nepenthes germination times? I am waiting on some supposed N. glabrata seeds and after one month still no success.

It could take anything from 2 weeks to a year or more to get germination of some species. One month is on the minimum side so dont give up too soon.

If you have no luck with the seeds, I bought a large Nepenthes glabrata from Black Jungle Terrarium Supply for a decent price. If you wait until they have a sale you can probably get a large one for $25-$35, depending on the sale.

Hi Mark, My experience with Nepenthes seed is very limited and recent, so bear that in mind....
I acquired three Nepenthes species seed in the past few months. N. bongso seed started to germinate in five weeks, and some seeds are still germinating six weeks later. N. reinwartdiana seeds have germinated in about six weeks from sowing as well. N. tentaculata from the same source, sown the same day as the reinwartdiana have not yet germinated, and they are close to eight weeks from sowing now.
I have also recieved home grown hybrid seeds (three different crosses) from a generous private grower. The first of these crosses was sown in mid-September, with the others sown in late October. None of these seed lots has germinated yet. I have been advised that a month is about the fastest Nepenthes seed will germinate, and that some can take up to a year. I'd say it's still very early in the game for your seeds. Good luck!
Paul

I am happy to hear of your successes, Paul. Who was your source for the first seeds? Mine are from CzPlants in the Czech Republic and I don't really know much about them so this increases the anxiety a bit.
Wishing you success, technovir.
