Hello everyone!
I have been traveling to Sumatra from July till the end of September. As I member of Drosera vzw and a huge vegetation lover I am most of my time out in the field to take some photographs of Carnivorous plants orchids and other vegetation.
Here I would like to share my pictures with all of you.
Happy seeing!!
First pitcher plant I saw was N tobaica on Gunung Sibayak:
and very nearby N. spectabillis was growing too... huge pitchers!!
Also their where some rhodo's growing nearby. This nice pink flower is from Rhododendron malayanum
and this Arisaema filiforme the guide tought it was a carnivorous too
From their I moved to Ketambe BUT guides where lazy to take me on the 21 days Gunung leuser or Gunung kemeri 14 days. I guess those treks are a bit hard and they rather do the chicken treks with ordinary travelers...so maybe for a future plan.
So To continue my story I moved to the island of Mentawai. There I stayed 2 weeks with a local shaman who brought me in places where N where growing in abundance
N. mirabillis
N. Ampullaria
The next day we where out again, looking for Sagu worms for our dinner. We passed again the same site as the day before and their I found another pitcherplant growing. N reinwardtiana and N ampullaria x mirabillis. Tought I didn't found any N. mirabillis growing nearby.

And together with N. ampullaria
N ampullaria x mirabillis
Then I moved further... back on the mainland after this crazy jungle adventure toward Gunung Kerenci and G. Tujuh
A BIG thanks to Sahar Dimus!!! He brought me to THE place of N aristolochoides!! Sad to know but he passed away a few days ago due to a kidney or heart problem. He was a really good guide RIP
here are the pictures of N aristolochoides
AND lower there was N gymnamphorea growing
And a particular yellow orchid...Eria merapiensis
And last very nice pitcherplant we saw .. this time on Gunung Kerenci was N singalana. Some lower pitchers
Some higher pitcher
and a nice colored lower pitcher again!!

Greetings and enjoy
