Hi all! My name is TobiLynne and I'm a new member of the ICPS. I've had flytraps on & off for the last 10 years or so (the longest living for about 2 years. Hoping to vastly improve that record ). Currently, I have one flytrap and one sarracenia plant, with 4 sundews on the way. They're in smaller, individual terrariums in a sunny window for now and appear to be doing quite well, though I realize that's going to have to change eventually given Ohio's rather dreary weather for much of the year. Hence, joining this forum to glean your expert knowledge!

Hi Tobilynne! I am new to this forum as well (and to grow carnivorous plants). If you want to know more about the plants and growing them I would like to suggest "the savage garden" by Peter D'amato. I read alot online, but nothing beats a book. Browsing online very quickly become confusing. BTW, nice to hear someone from Ohio. The first place I ever visited in the US was Ohio .

Hi Xenia! Where are you from originally? I have been pouring over Barry Rice's "Growing Carnivorous Plants" book, which is not only very helpful, but EXTREMELY funny! Thanks for the recommendation - I will definitely pick that one up as well. Hi Tobilynne! I am new to this forum as well (and to grow carnivorous plants). Hi Tobilynne,
Glad to hear your a member of the ICPS...so am I. It sounds like you're off to a great start on your CP collection. What species of sundew are you getting?
I currently have D capensis, D cistaflora, D regia, D nidiformis, D adelae, and D venusta.
I wish you much success with your carnivorous plants!

Welcome indeed! I too would recommend The Savage Garden - as an almost complete amateur, it's really helped me to not kill my plants

Welcome! It's always nice to hear about other CP growers from Ohio. I'm in Mount Vernon, but the Ohio Carnivorous Plant Society (http://www.ohcps.org) has members from all over the state. Hope your plants are doing well Cheers,

Hi dscoots! I have 2 varieties of spatulata. They looked absolutely dead when they arrived (totally dried out), and I assumed they were goners. I rinsed them off with some distilled water, pretty much buried them in a terrarium, and stuck them in a window ... 2 weeks or so later, they are sparkling with dew, and even have new little ones popping up around them. How do you grow yours? Hi Tobilynne, Glad to hear your a member of the ICPS...so am I. It sounds like you're off to a great start on your CP collection. What species of sundew are you getting?
