There are some on TerraForums but they are pretty much exclusively of the plant show. Practically no pictures at all of the conference attendees or the NECPS hosts.

On the behalf of all the NECPS members who pitched in, thanks Phil, Fernando & Mike! It sure wasn't easy but it did come off well I think... and NaN, we had video-taped all of the lectures.... it'll take a bit to get them together in a watchable format, so stay tuned!!!

Matt
Excellent on the videos. Be sure you obtain permission from the presenters. As I recall Siggi Hartmeyer had to remaster one of his DVDs of a prior conference because one of the speakers complained about copyright infringement.

As far as I know Siggi had all the rights and nothing was re-edited. Someone was just making a claim without foundation.

Konnichiwa! Dear Not a Number-san and Marcel-san, Are you tacitly suggesting Ms. Shibata and me? I have no intention of exposing well-intentioned someone's clumsiness. I don't know who did. Japanese member(s) or other member(s) in foreign countries??? So that, my posting here is only once. The board members of Insectivorous Plant Society knew the official video would be made. Including Ms. Shibata. We agreed to it. I do not get to know how the ICPS has been managed. I do not get to know internal circumstances. We were told the official video would be made by other member in foreign country where beer does flow men chxxder. So Ms. Shibata and other board members were surprised. Nothing has been told from the ICPS to us(IPS) about the change. Isao

That is correct Marcel, just to clear this point: Prof. Katsuhiko Kondo was chairman of the Organization Committee of the CP-World-conference in Tokyo. He invited Irmgard and myself to give a lecture about our Australia trips 1995/2001 and asked us to film and produce the official video on the conference. Everybody at the conference knew that, as Prof. Kondo mentioned it and everybody saw Irmgard and myself filming the event. The video was produced and for 9 years everybody was happy. After we uploaded the film to our YouTube-channel last year, Sweetpea complained on this ICPS-forum that we probably violated the copyright of Prof. Chibata, who gave the first lecture after the opening ...
A) Only some days after that strange and unexpected accusation the case became cleared by Doug Darnowski (also here on ICPS-forum), the former ICPS-president, posting that he and every participant of the Tokyo conference knew very well that the Hartmeyers did the official documentary, and everybody who has problems with that, should have said that 10 years ago.
B) Irmgard and I immediately posted a letter to Prof. Shibata and asked her to send us an information by email or letter, in case that our conference video - containing also her lecture in Tokyo - would violate her copyright. Until now she did not mention any concerns against the publication of the official conference video, nor did that anybody else of the other speakers.
Therefore nothing has been changed or remastered, the conference videos are still complete on YouTube. However, we experienced in some recent talks with CPers, that Sweetpea's posting from last year caused obviously some rumors about copyright-problems, which obviously also reached Matt's ears. So maybe this thread is a good occasion to clear this definitely:
The official video on the ICPS conference Tokyo 2002 has been legally produced on behalf of the chairman of the Organization Committee Prof. Kondo, and until today (>10 years after) nobody of the speakers complained that his lecture has been recorded for the film. Just contrary, as Irmgard and I were still in contact for many years with Prof. Kondo and several of the famous speakers, like i.e. Prof. Stephen Williams, regarding our snap-tentacle experiments. So everything is fine, and all unfounded rumors were obviously only caused by a blindfold and unnecessary posting for what ever reason.
Irmgard and I really hope, that this incident will never be a reason to avoid any further filming of such conferences, that would be a real pity, and we are looking forward to see also a film on the last event.

The 2010 event was filmed but is due to "staff"problems still in production. The 2012 event was also completely filmed. I think this should become the standard as many people can't make it for a host of reasons to this great events

That would be a good idea.
Perhaps a DVD (included or discounted) for attendees and available for purchase by any body else. Format issues such as PAL vs NTSC would complicate production though.
Or online streaming for attendees and ICPS members.

Still debating the best way. Format is not that big an issue as both PAL and NTSC will play on a computer. The 2010 DVDs were included but as I said are still in production. Uploaded versions or at least abstracts will certainly follow but fist things first.

I personally would love to see some of the lectures I missed. Especially the Philcoxia one... And I'd like to review a couple good ones as well!
