This sprout thing has appeared next to one of my Venus Flytraps.I don't think it's the plant is growing through the rhizome- unless they produce these tiny sprouts and I didn't know. : D It's worth mentioning that none have my plants have flowered either- I got them in the late spring/early summer (I'm in Australia, so it's currently late summer). Any ideas as to what it could be?

Looks to me like a seedling Dionaea popping up there! Don't mess with it and let it develop, and next year when you re pot, you can VERY GENTLY remove it to it's own pot, maybe a 2".

Or it could be the beginning of a new growth point on the rhizome...but it does look like a seedling to me.

: D How exciting! I have know idea how a seed would have gotten there, but I'm not complaining. I'm somewhat worried about winter though- it should be getting somewhat colder soon, probably cold enough to trigger dormancy. Hm. |:

Here in California, I've had them go through winter with no problem! How extreme do your winter temperatures get? PS. We found your weather system..it snuck in through Alaska and is POUNDING us right now! This is where a smiley would be attached

I heard about the weather in CA. (: Here the winters are rather mild, though from what I can tell it's barely enough to trigger dormancy. I think there was frost...once last year. The max is usually around 20ish C, and I believe it hovers around 10-15 C on most days.
