In late May 2010 I had the pleasure of finally meeting Barry Rice and his wife Beth, Brian Barnes and Jim Miller. Hopefully everyone had a good time despite adverse conditions (tipping kayaks, crossing flooded areas in chest deep water, getting caught in severe thunderstorm). Barry got to see Utricularia floridana for the first time and decided to join this species in their habitat for a closer look. I took more video shots than pictures and eventually will put them together into a short "CP movie". It was great to meet up with you guys, I really had a total blast!
Nice shots, BTW. I look forward to more.
Happy Growing,

Hey Randy, It was absolutely spectacular spending time with you, Brian, and Jim. Beth and I had a fabulous time. Right now I'm sorting through the 800 images I took, looking for the gems among the rough. It will take a while! I'm looking forward to those videos you took---the world will finally see me for the idiot I am!!!!

I had high hopes of joining you folks down there, but life got in the way (as usual). There's always next year. I, too, am looking forward to more pics and video...

Hey Jim,
It would have been great to see you there, too! Alas.
I'll have a (very) few orchid IDs from my trip I'll ask you to verify.
Cheers
Barry

Here's the first of 3 videos. Barry is quite a character! Brings some fun into otherwise "boring" videos! After completing these I realize there are not many shots of plants in these... " www.facebook.com/v/1393088121726"

What a spectacular site! That S. rubra gulfensis clump is gigantic Barry: You remind me of Captain Pierce from M*A*S*H, for some reason... Lol.

Wow. I never guessed I came across as respectable as I do! Just as the video was ending, I noticed that I said "ochroleuca" when I meant "olivacea". Oh well. Randy, that was a fun couple of sites!!!!! It's killing me that the lab I develop "film" at is going to take DAYS before I get those aquatic images back. I'm spoiled by digital! B
