Saw these while hiking in British Columbia. The yellow one was seen in a rainforest near the western coast of Vancouver Island, while the purple one was found further inland, in a mountainous area. I think they're some kind of saprophytic plant, like Squawroot or something like that. Been googling and hard to find a perfect ID.

The second one looks like a Boschniakia sp, possibly B. hookerii, which has the right geographical distribution for your plant. It isnt a saprophyte, it is a root parasite in the family Orobanchaceae. The other picture isnt very clear but it could be the yellow form of B. strobilaceae just emerging.
