Try a sandblasting supplier. You should be able to get silica sand in the grade you want from them. Wear a respirator when working with unwashed silica sand and perlite or risk silicosis It's illegal to use for sand blasting in this state, I've checked.

Well what is legal in your state? Crushed glass grit and quartz sand are common substitutes for silica sand and are just as chemically inert.
