I recently moved to Bolivia, about 75km east of Santa Cruz (and had to give up my nice CP collection in the states ). I hope to see some CPs in the wild here. I was wondering if anyone knows what species of CPs live here in Bolivia or know of anywhere I can find a guide/list of Bolivian CPs. I'd like to know what to keep my eye out for on my various excursions. Thanks!

There are certainly lots of interesting CPs in Bolivia!!! In the lowlands around your area are all sorts of Drosera, Genlisea & Utrics, many of which I am familiar from W Brazil. Take a look at my posts in the CPUK forum showing CPs in the states o Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul & Goiás in Brazil. In the mountains you'll find some Pinguicula, including the newly described P.chuquisacensis. There are some collections of D.montana from Bolivia, which would be really cool to confirm. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if D.peruensis grows on the tops of the E mts facing the humid Pantanal/ Amazon lowlands. There are also some epiphytic Utrics, if I'm not mistaken. You'll have a blast CP hunting such an un-explored country! Please don't forget to show us all the pics! Best Wishes, Fernando Rivadavia
