I just received a pair of small heter. x minor with next to nothing for roots. I got a good price for it, but I obviously got what I paid for. I do have the option to return it in the next few days. this has not been the easiest thing for me to find is the problem. any one with any experience as what my chances are on getting them to live with good conditions.

I don't grow helis, but I know they are very fragile; however, het. x minor is one of the tougher ones. I guess you could treat your plant like a division (ask others, as I don't know about this).
By the way, is this your first CP? My guess is no, but I'm just checking.

what conditions do you have where you intend to grow them? Heliamphora will need high humidity to recover, a terrarium, greenhouse or similar.

perhaps dipping a little Rooting Hormone would help, along with giving it plenty of light and high humidity and, of course, a nice temp drop at night

Before you plant it, mix up some weak fert mix (about 10ppm) and let it soak for a couple hours to fully rehydrate the plant.
Then plant it and keep it bagged till new growth is observed.
Your biggest issue will be dessication by transpiration. Until you get some root mass, the plant's water loss will exceed it's ability for uptake. Av

Thank you for all the input. I have been growing carnivores for 7 years, Neps 5, but cephs and a helio only 1. I have several terrariums set up in my basement to overwinter my tropical plants. 2 40 watt 90cri bulbs about 15 inches away on each, with humidity running 75 to 85%. A miminal 10 degree drop is all my setup allows, but every plant seems to like it ok past the initial transportation shock. I let my vendor know I was probably going to return them and was given a full instant refund and told to keep the plants too. Wow, not used to that. So now it is just an experiment to see if I can get them to recover. I will try all 3 suggestions mentioned so far. Thanks again for the help.
