A year and half ago Gubler did sell N. madagascariensis, still have the clone and has given me some trouble as you say but it has just started to develop urn. Madagascariensis is a somewhat difficult. I wondered why the sold this difficult plant
But I do have that list that was discussed at terraforum with some updates I made to my copy.

same thing i was wondering. most of the older madagascariensis you see now are the new seed grown ones. the TC clones are barely even worth paying for IMHO.

its either rafflesiania or madagascar . if u look in pg.5 under "Home Depot Plant" wiliamg said so and the pitchers have the cilia , or the hair thingys and nether ventrata or ventrosica have those. i'm confused

Resellers sell immature plants, and all immature nepenthes have the ala or cilia. But depending of the species, as it grows, they slowly start loosing the ala starting from the bottom up.
If there was a photo of a nep in Home Depot Plant, it's gone now.
But normally ventratas, ventricosa, sanguinea, and "Judith Finn" are sold.

Chances are high that it's a ventrata. Easy plant. My ventratas definitely have those cute hairs on the first 4 or 5 pitchers.

the pitcher lost its cilia and the its new pitcher dosen't have any. if it a ventrata , hope its a female, because i don't like hybrids , but now that i think about it at least i don't have to put them together any more. it will help if i ever try to mix the easyist ones together.
good growing,
