NASC joined in with the ICPS's Brian Barnes (Head of Conservation) in the rescue of an assortment of coastal CPs. Mark Todd, NASC's Head of Conservation, drove from NC to Florida to meet up with Brian and discuss their plan of "attack". It was a sad sight to look at all the beautiful plants and know if you didn't dig them up, there would be nothing left. It was many hours of work digging up Sarracenia (and companion plants) that were soon to fall to a road project. NASC has taken part of these rescue plants and placed them into our protection/growing program under supervision by J.C., our Plant Aministrator who will oversee and track the material under each grower. If at some time in the future, the condition of the site returns to its original state and is safe, we could consider if ethical restoration could occur. Either way, this plant material has now been kept safe, location logged, and land survey taken. Thank you for the oppornuty to share in this rescue endeavor!
