Hi y'all! we're planning on a vacation to Hilton Head Island, SC soon, and I really want to see some wild CPs! Is there any state parks, preserves, etc. that I can see some Sarracenia or something around that area? I would really like to see some S. Minor while I'm there! Thank you! Aslan

Asian:
I have just recently moved to SC and have been searching as well. Try a web search on Cartwheel Nature preserve managed by the SC DNR. The web write up specifically lists carnivorous plants, you might also try the Nature Conservancy WEbsite.
If you ever get to South Alabama, there are numerous sites to be seen.
Best of luck

I am somewhat hesitant to post this, but I will be in the Francis Marion National Forest on Saturday, May 2 and/or Sunday May 3. This is a great area for S. flava (many varieties), S. minor, and S. rubra var. rubra. If you wish to meet me there, I can show you locations for all three species and possibly some hybrids. This is a national forest, so plant removal is a big NO NO. I will be photographing native orchids at the time, but can spend part of the day showing you around. Contact me by email and let's see if we can set something up. Click on my name to the upper left of the avatar to get my email address.
