This all started out with the innocent idea of adding a pond to my mini-bog. I simply dug a small pit and raised the water level. (I know what you are thinking. I too agree that this was very, very foolish. This was a long time ago.) after realizing that the water level was far too high, I finally decided to add a saran wrap separator to keep the water level lower for my plants. I added a layer of peat moss to hide the saran wrap and... well, the water table did not recede. Apparently, the peat moss acted as a siphon to equalize the water levels on each side of the saran wrap. Eventually, I added drainage holes on the side of the container opposite the pond. This, I thought could be an excellent container for Darlingtonia! of course, I have no experience with Darlingtonia, so I have not been able to test it. also, whenever I invent something, someone always seems to come along and tell me that it has already been invented before years ago (I "invented" the water distiller). please tell me if someone has already come up with this before, as i hate looking like an idiot or a liar.

I haven't used it. But its worth a try if the water level isn't too high.

(I "invented" the water distiller) please tell me if someone has already invented this before. You may have designed one but you are many years too late as far as inventing it.

That is why I put quotations around "invented", because I did not know at the time that this did exist already and was called a water distiller. but perhaps it was not clear enough and sounded as if I was trying to take credit for something I did not do. Maybe someday I will invent something useful, but for now, I must be content with showing people a sketch of something they've seen before and looking like an idiot believing that I came up with it.
