Hey now,
Sunbelle, I know of you and your beautiful nursery in Florida. So you said over $1000 I need assistance. What about $6.50 plus postage? Does the seller's permits suffice to maintain legality? All answers to this are welcome, though I'm hoping to here from Sunbelle specifically. If I could have found Subelle's phone digits I would have called them yesterday.

Dave, On the 621 it's two, the 587 is five. Ugh, I am slinging around gov. jargon now.

Joe is correct, I just reupped my 621 and it is two years. Big bold type when it expires: 10/2010.
The 587 lasts 5 years.
And my USDA group is very aware of my permit status. They started calling me 2x a month back in July to let me know my 621 was going to expire Oct 13.

Jack, You should research your importing questions with the USDA and US customs, we're not the final authority.

Looks like you need a US Fish and Wildlife permit too ($100US each). Your state may require permits in addition. The instructions say to include copies of foreign CITES, USDA and state (where applicable) permits: EXPORT/IMPORT/INTERSTATE AND FOREIGN COMMERCE OF PLANTS (ESA and/or CITES) www.fws.gov/forms/3-200-36.pdfIMPORT OF WILD COLLECTED APPENDIX-I PLANTS (CITES) www.fws.gov/forms/3-200-35.pdf

I won a Nepenthes on e bay from that same vendor and the plant came frozen and dead. They sent my money back after some screaming. Never again. David

I have never seen those fish & wildlife permits before, but the first one is exporting and the second, importing wc plants. Noplay, frozen? I wonder how that happened...
Cheers,
Joe

Re-read the first one:
