Hey there - new to the wonderful world of cp's, I currently have a tropical pitcher plant and a ping and want to expand. I live in a very small apartment in San Francisco, so I'm looking for smaller cps for windowsill growing. The various nurseries I've been to in SF tend to have just have venus fly traps, and nothing against them, but they're just not my thing. Short of driving up to California Carnivores, I was wondering if anyone could recommend any good local place in SF (or perhaps the East Bay, I'm over there a lot too...)?
Thanks!

I don't live in SF, but when I was there visiting, I found a couple of great little shops in the Castro where I found a decent variety of CPs.

Hey - I've seen loads of stuff in a nursery near Taraval(neps, sarrs, pings, droseras). I believe the nursery's name starts with the letter "S". I don't quite remember though...
(They're got good orchids too)

I live about an hour north of San Fran. There is a nursery here run by Peter D'amato (author of Savage Garden) called California Carnivores. You can look it up online. It is a wonderful place to visit! If you become a member of BACPS as I am they have a meeting there every year.

I remember seeing s REALLY big nep in the China/Japan town area when i was there... five years ago . I'm pretty sure it was in Japan town, near the peace pagoda. Small nursery selling drosera, dionaea, and nepenthes. Good luck!

There's an awsome store called Paxton Gate on the 800 block of valencia that sells some CPs. I love this store for many reasons but honestly their CP selection is a bit pedestrian. Beautiful wardian cases, orchids and stuff- check out their website.
Also the UC Berkeley Botanical Gardens sells a few- mostly VFTs, cape sundews, and Sarracenia alata. every once in a while they have N. Rokko.
You can look around SF and the east bay all you want (as i have) but you will have to get to California Carnivores when you get tired of the hybrid Sarracenias and N. ventricosa/ventratas sold at nurseries.
