hi everyone! My name's Emily Troiano. I'm 22 and have been growing carnivorous plants for almost 2 years. I'm a recent college grad, and I work in a lab studying ticks and tick-borne illnesses. Besides plants, my other hobbies include ultimate frisbee, knitting, music and art. Like a few others who've posted, I'm involved in the local New England Carnivorous Plant Society.
good to see so many familiar faces...and great to meet people from all over the world...wow!

NECPS in da Hoouuuse! Good to see ya here Emily! Didn't know you worked with ticks. I hate ticks!! Especially when you're walking through brush in shorts (one stupid time) stop and see what looks like clumps of dirt on your leg but it turns out to be hundreds, maybe thousands of baby ticks! Yuck! They spread quick too! Any tips on how to keep these repulsive creatures away from me would be greatly appreciated!! A trick I learned in elementary school is to grab em with yer fingernails and tear em in half! It's like the only way to kill hungry ones aside from burning em! Fat ones ya just squish!
