I built my own flow hood, and at the moment everything is working pretty well... However I haven't bought any specific fan yet, instead I just found a pretty powerful AC one to use as a blower. I can change out the fan later if need be (or add more). According to this site: www.fungifun.org/English/Flowhood#blowerI should have an airflow of 100 feet per minute(fpm). Does anyone know what that might feel like? Or could give me some poor mans test that has worked with a laminar flow hood before? Currently I have an airflow that's strong enough to blow plastic wrap. (not out of the hood, just waves around slowly. I know it might be a far off question, but just seeing if there's any way to estimate it before having to buy specific fans. Thanks! Nathan

The fan/blower should have a CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) rating in the specifications.
Other than using an airflow meter I suppose you can figure out the volume of an inflated garbage bag and time how long the blower takes to fill the bag.

Thanks for the garbage bag idea! It fills a 30 gallon garbage bag in 6 seconds.
In 60 seconds I should be able to fill 300 gallons.
According to random things found on google, 1 cubic foot is 7.481 gallons.
According to the original rating that I should be at 100 cubic feet per min; that would mean I should be doing 748.1 gallons per min.
So I'm short by a bit more than half (should be filling it in 2.4 seconds) , looks like I'll be adding more fans!
Thanks so much!!!!
