Greg hasn't responded for some time either Just about all fixed for Down under except the opportunity to sign up for the conference and the excursions. I really would like to round this off, been asking about it for half a year now. Please?

I would really like to get things fixed as well. The money is waiting to be sent off and I would like to fill in a registration form and get that sent off as well. I hope that I am registered unofficially for the conference and trips. I am sure that it will turn out OK in the end. I expect that Michelle is very busy and that it is not her fault. There is a fair bit of time left. I must get my VISA or ETA sorted out as well.

Ok, with Google I got around the problem that the page wouldn't open in Firefox at all (thanks to a fellow boardmember of Carnivora ). This should work for all off our foxloving friends: members.iinet.net.au/~sydneycarnivorous/index_files/Page872.htmlStill, downloading the registration form is not possible, It doesn't have IBAN banking information for payment and somethings doesn't seem to fit. The WA field trip is from 1-8 according to Greg's mail and the opening page, but the program ends somewhere during the 7th without a final accommodation. Based on Greg's mail I expected to arrive back in Perth on the morning of the 8th so I think I have to book an additional hotel night. Hope that more info and clarification will follow soon. Marcel

I would appreciate hearing from folks from the USA who are going. I've been contacted by a few USA CPers who want to know which other countrymen are attending. Exactly why...I'm not sure.

Greg Bourke has been quite responsive to my emails. If you find icps08@hotmail.com to be slow to reply, try Greg directly at sydneycarnivorous at hotmail.com (replace at with @)
Organizing the logistics of an international conference is a demanding, thankless, and time consuming task. For those that do this as an unpaid volunteer trying to squeeze the time between the demands of a full time job and family, it can sometimes become overwhelming.
ICPS desires the 2008 Conference to be successful and a great experience for those fortunate to be able to attend. If you are having concerns, please post here and we can try to unravel your problem.

G'day guys, I'm really sorry for the lengthy delays. I really have been stretched for time. I have been home for an average of 1 day per week for the last two months due to work commitments. Fortunately I will be in Sydney for the next two weeks so should be able to answer all the questions and fix all the problems with the web site. The problem I have with the web site is that I can see it and my host can see it. You should all be able to get to it from members.iinet.net.au/~sydneycarnivorous/index_files/Page872.html but if you can't I can email a PDF version. The registration form has still not been fixed but if you email either sydneycarnivorous@hotmail.com or icps08@hotmail.com I'll email one to you immediately. The good news is that we have already been able to reduce the cost by $100 per attendee. Those who have already paid will be refunded. As I previously stated we hope to reduce this cost further as we fill all positions. Regards Greg

The delay on replying to emails was nearly three weeks, so if you haven't heard yet, don't worry too much. Hopefully, Greg is now on the job. I have just applied for my ETA, which is equivalent to a visa. I did it all online and it went through OK. Took about a minute to process. I take it that everyone does realise that you need this document from Europe and I would guess that it is the same from the US. I did a search on the internet for the website. You don't actually receive any paperwork but the information is stored on the airline computer and the computer in Australia. It costs AUS$20, which you pay by credit card. It would be laugh if I had connected through to a fraudulent website which has just taken my money, but , hopefully, the site was genuine ;D

Hi guys,
Again I have been really slack with getting on here but there just aren't any computers out in the swamps. Unfortunately I'm off again tomorrow for a few days but will be back thursday or friday. The website is being updated and should work when it is relaunched this week. Despite my slackness it is actually shaping up quite well. Definately a once in a lifetime trip for Sydney 2008.
The WA field trip is almost full so if you were planning to get on this one, I suggest you get to us very soon.
Cheers Greg

G'day guys,
There seems to have been a problem with our PO box so if you have posted your registration form it may not have been received. Please email us at ICPS08@hotmail.com to confirm your registration letter has been received.
Regards
Greg

Not quite sure what you want to know. You won't need a set of handles that you can fix to the ground so you don't fall off into outer space. Me, I'm pretty much ready for it all.

Actually, I know what you mean. I have looked at the official website and it still says that everything is to be confirmed. Things are being cut a bit fine, I'm flying out on Monday week. I hope that it all comes together eventually. I just can't get the corks to hang properly from the edge of my panama. I bought some Aussy dollars a few week's ago. They are quite colourful. Friends tell me that they are different to what they saw a few years ago. I have even found my tripod for photographing those Drosera. How can you lose a yard long tripod in one bedroom ? We will just have to turn up on the Thursday and say g'day, and hope all is OK.

You do not need corks, you will stick out like a dogs... ;D So Dave, you and me going to get on the piss?. ;D The conference will be held in the maiden theatre and the vendors will be at the Sydney tropical centre. SO WHO IS COMING?.

I will follow you into the nearest bar. I enjoy pubs and bars, but I don't drink alcohol. (Strewth, the limey doesn't drink ! ) It's usually too much coffee that causes me to do daft things, like the comments above. I am popular in the UK on Sunday evening because I drive a few friends to the pub and let them do the drinking. Looking forward to meeting everyone.
