I too am interested in more details about the ICPS 2008 Conference. Is there a web site set up with more details, which I may be overlooking? I attended the 2006 Conference in Frostburg, Maryland. Inexpensive lodging and meal plan were available at the University. It may be different with the 2008 Conference in a big city. I would hope we don't have to figure out lodging and transportation each on our own - in my case from the other side of the world. I am trying to get a feel for expenses to determine if I can afford to attend. I am also interested in the Perth expedition.

I have just booked my hotel, from the Wednesday when I fly in to Sydney, to checking out on the 1st October. Phill and Greg seem extremely busy so I have gone ahead and done it. If anyone is interested, I used the Expedia travel website (www.expedia.co.uk). This is the UK version of the Microsoft backed travel agent and gives the prices in pounds sterling. I am sure that there is a site for the US users (maybe www.expedia.com ). There are a lot of hotels on there, everything from backpackers lodging to quite expensive ones. I have picked the Travelodge, which is about a mile from the Botanic Gardens. £52 a night inc taxes. Not the cheapest, nor the most expensive either. I hope that I haven't jumped the gun and this all fits in with Phill and Greg's plans. I don't work for Microsoft but the hotels seemed good prices compared with some other websites that I checked. Someone is going to tell me that they have picked a cheaper and closer hotel on another website !

I wish I could go, but tickets to AU are too expensive for me... Oh well. Have fun at the conference people!

Greetings, Slowly things are becoming organised. Unfortunately all the helpers that volunteered in the early days have other commitments so it ends up being the problem of a few. I have managed to put the final details to the trip in W.A. and worked out the costing as cheap as possible. Please remember that the tour will cover some 1,000kms and see some of the best CP sites on offer. It runs 1/10 - 7/10 Further info can be found by checking out the site Greg has set up at:- icps08@hotmail.com Cheers Phill

Sorry to criticise but that's an email address Phill. The web address is www.sydneycarnivorous.com as was put on the forum earlier. It's all looking exciting now, looking forward to it all.

Hi, This may sound really stupid, but are there ever any videos made of the discussions and demonstrations done at the ICPS Conference? There is no way I could ever get there, as I would be in the thick of college classes, and the price of plane tickets would blow me away. I would really like to hear/ see what the speakers have to talk about, so even an audio recording would suffice. Please let me know if something like this isn't out there already. Thanks, Aaron

It is interesting that I cannot get www.sydneycarnivorous.com/to load in Firefox, but it opens just fine in IE. The problem appears to be specific to this site.

There appears to a long delay in replying to emails to icps08@hotmail.com at the moment. I sent an email nearly two weeks ago and Michelle hasn't got back to me yet. I expect that, now everything is on the web about the conference, poor old Michelle has been snowed under with emails. I tend to worry in this situation that my email has somehow been lost in the ether. I hope that all is OK, my email hasn't bounced back to me.
