I"m very happy to see your Leah came around Brokken. It's looking great, as well as the ever beautiful Adrian Slack. Love the colors on your Catesbaei and rubris! How large are those pitchers on the AS this year?
That's great to hear Brokken. Seems like a plant that does not fair well one year explodes the next. Seeing how far this thread has gone and how your plants look now, I don't think the very first sentence of this thread holds true anymore And to think I got hooked on Sarrs allll because of this thread haha, thanks again!
They're pretty large compared to other xCatesbaei that I've seen. Take a look at the last group shot of my bogs. In the middle row, first bog from the left you'll see a typical catesbaei. Then if you take your eyes to the third bog you'll see Abandoned Hope. I didn't think there was anything special about this clone - namely because all I saw were pictures of it. Seeing it first hand, you realize how large this plant is compared to the typical form. (almost twice the size, I would say)
Your plants and your pictures are beautiful!! Didn't follow the rest of this thread until now...gorgeous. I really like the photo with all of your Saras tiered above one another, makes the impact even more so, and makes you want to grow them if you have not before, or get out and work in the yard! Good job and mission accomplished Brokken, this is what we're here for! Keep it up -
This has been a strange year: It's been nice and cool up till now and that seems to have delayed a lot of growth on my sarras, then a heat spell ensured that all that new growth got burnt to a crisp. My pictures will definitely not be as nice as previous years, but that's what a progress thread is for.
