where do you get the rubra black? It was given to me by a local grower late last year. This is my first year growing it.

I was just going to question about the same plant, quite special rubra "black". Do you know some data about the specific sub-species in which that variety is described, or the area where it's found?.... you know, just to try to look for it one like yours. Thanks

Hi there, I wish I could tell you authoritatively, but it was given to me as 'Rubra Black'. I don't know specifically which subspecies it would be categorized as. It seems to resemble either rubra rubra or rubra gulfensis. If I had to take a shot at it, I would say that it's probably gulfensis. Ok, thanks anyway! And, of course, by the way, you have real stricking plants, very nice collection. Regards.

Here are some others: I can honestly say that I have NO idea what went into the making of this plant. It stands about 6 inches tall with a mouth opening that is about 2.5 inches. The ratio of mouth to height is the highest of any sarracenia I have: A particularly rotund pitcher of S. rosea: The pictures for the cultivar description of Golden-Red Jubilee don't do it justice. This is what it looks like: Colorwise this is very similar to Red Golden Jubilee, but arrived at by different means. Also the pitcher and lid shape is different. (oreo x ruby red):

Hi ICPS-bob.
Yes it is, I carelessly transposed the 'Red' and 'Golden'. I've corrected it now. Thanks for catching that.
