My drosera tray used to be home exclusively to D. slackii (right) and D. hamiltonii (center) but it's now the dumping ground for excess gemmae. Other drosera species including binata and sphatulata have also colonized it:

After I said that I would stop making more bog gardens, here's a picture of my 9th one thanks to the kindness of a local CP grower. Roughly from left to right: S. flava var. rubricorpora S. leucophylla form "Hurricane Creek" S. rubra ssp. gulfensis "Black" S. rubra ssp. jonesii x leucophylla ? S. purpurea ssp. purpurea form 'heterophylla' S. rosea S. purpurea hybrid.

Hey Brokken all your bog's look great. Anyways I was wondering if you put drain holes to prevent overflow after a big rain. If so how far from the top do you drill the hole.
THanks
Chad

THanks Chad Hi Chad, Most of the time, the drain holes go unused because the weather in San Jose is such that within a couple of days of me filling up the bogs, they need water again. This keeps the soil from becoming soggy and too anoxic. However, there are holes in the bogs that keep them from getting too flooded for long. They are about 2 inches from the top. Just enough that the rhizome itself is not sitting in water or muck. I do a little terracing in the bogs so that species that appreciate the wetter conditions can get them - like S. psittacina and U. longifollia. I hope that helps.

Another grower in San Jose, great! A few questions if I may - it looks like you have all the plants in one large container with the same soil. How do you handle watering? How do they do during the hot dry summer? And lastly - do they manage to catch enough to eat themselves outside? I've got a bunch in small pots which sit in a watering tray - it will be their first year outside after starting indoors last year.
