Talk about blast from the past... never expected someone to ever find this again.
Now that this thread has risen again, might as well say that i used t8 lights, and still do.

They are awesome! How far away from the lights are the plants? Also, I just got lights. 1 Cool white 1 warm white t8 32w

each plant is organized in the lighting system by size: d. capensis, because it can do fairly well with a little less light than usual, is about three inches from touching the lights. I keep all of my rosetted and pygmy drosera pot rims about one and one half inch away from touching now, and they are doing fine; no burning. General rule of thumb: get the plant's leaves as close to the strongest lights possible without letting them touch said lights.

Ok. I guess that's what I will do, more or less, although I think it would be 3" for all of mine, based on the rack my dad is building for me.
