Another thought on ethelyne is thet ripe fruit give it off and you could put the moist pot in a sealed bag with a few ripe apples which a notorious source of ethelyne. Great for ripening green kiwifruit too . Great Drosera photos

Gee I'm glad I read this post as I put some stolonifera seeds in a pot a month or so ago, not knowing about it taking 2 years to germinate. I've also sown some rotundifolia, indica and spatulata seeds.
Will these need similar time frames to germinate? The spatulata have already sprouted nicely.
Hey Pitcherfreak, you mention that ethylene will help ripen kiwifruit. Is this the same as putting bananas next to fruit to help them ripen faster?

Same thing, its also the reason that mushrooms need to be stored in paper bags so that air movement can disperse the gas that the mushys give off.
